Parents need a coach. Our kids can bring out the worst in us. Sure, they go to school and study. They might even do homework; but what are they doing the rest of the time? They are studying YOU! They are trying to figure out how to work you. They are conspiring to influence you. They swap covert texts on ‘how to persuade your parents.’ Don’t panic! You have Timothy Smith the Parents Coach in your corner …

A. Parenting Presentations

1.The Family Room – an interactive dialogue with parents

The need: parents need practical, positive training for their most important and demanding job – guiding their children toward maturity.

A Unique Approach:  some parents today will attend a seminar; and some will check out content online; but MOST parents are eager for a CONVERSATION not a lecture about what works. Most contemporary parents want to participate, and not simply listen. Most parents want training not simply teaching. Show don’t tell applies to them.

The Family Room  is unique because it is a guided conversation about parenting. It’s not academic, although it’s based on research, education and experience. It demonstrates effective parenting skills in real time. It’s interactive, dynamic and highly personable. But most of all, it’s immediately practical. Parents will be able to apply insights that they discover within minutes of attending The Family Room.

Like TV’s Super Nanny, Parent Coach Timothy Smith will guide parents in what to do and what not to do with children. But don’t worry; we don’t come to your home with cameras and crew!

The Format: Parents confidentially submit scenarios that they’d like to deal with. Tim will craft a response to each. A few may be developed into role plays and are presented by real parents at The Family Room.  Through small group discussion; individual planning on worksheets; large group dialogue; training exercises and props; parents gain confidence and skills in a highly active and interactive environment – like a Family Room!

The Target: Parents of preschool, elementary and teen children. The event can be targeted specifically to any of these.

Hosts: Schools, churches, parent’s groups, home groups, book groups, PTAs, MOPs, etc.

Why this works: Our current generation of parents highly values authenticity, dialogue, process and discovery. The Family Room  provides content and training for young parents in a casual, relational conversation that fits their style of communication and relationship. It’s encouragement for Facebook era parents.
