Tribe - A Manly Herd of Fathers and Sons Based on a new graphic novel about Rusty Meeker, a sixth-grader at Grover Cleveland Middle School. And his mom freaks out and sends him to his room, "Until your father gets home." Rusty's dad, Randy is tired, hungry and irritable, "You got in trouble again?" "Why are you always on my case dad? You treat me like a little kid!" Rusty snaps back. "If you didn't ACT like a kid, maybe I wouldn't treat you like one!" "Yeah right ..." "If you acted like a young man, I'd treat you like a real man." "What is a REAL man, dad?"
"Ahh ... son ... well I ... I will... I will get back to you on that." In frustration Randy marches out of the Rusty's room and goes to get the mail. He sees his neighbor and asks him, "What should I say to Rusty about 'what is a real man?'" "I dunno. But I should find out. Rusty and my son are the same age." At work the next day, Randy asks his friend, "what is a real man? What can we tell our boys?" "I don't know. But we should get a herd of clueless dads together and find out." And that's the point of Tribe: to discover 'What is a real man?" |
